Doctor's Day
The Doctor’s Day is celebrated on July 1st in the school premises in a very solemn and quite manner. Stressing more on the need for acknowledgement of the significant contribution made by doctors in our lives, Nalandians greeted the doctors on this occasion. Dr. Muralidhar, Chief Medical Officer, Hindustan Shipyard was the chief guest of the occasion. Children were given tips to up keep their health and hygiene. The response was quite noteworthy. Children and teachers of NTS also visited Queens NRI Hospital and greeted the doctors. They extended their warm wishes to the Chairman, Dr. Sri Ranga Rao, the Vice Chair Person Dr. Sri Vijayalakshmi and CMO, Dr. B.A. Ramayya.
Free Eye Check Up For Diabetic Retinopathy in N.T.S Campus
Nalanda Talent School, Seethammadhara has organized a free Eye Check up camp for Diabetic Retinopathy in its campus on 19-03-2011 in between 10.00a.m and 3.00p.m. Prgramme was inaugurated by K.P. Panakala Rao, Director, People Combine. Retina Specialist Team from Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital has extended their suggestions to the concern persons after a thorough check up using an ultra modern gadget “Fundus Camera”. Many parents and people in and around Seethammadhara had availed this opportunity and made this programme successful.
HP Gas’s Awareness Campaign
HP Gas’s ‘Art for Awareness’ Campaign for children in the age of group of 5-10 was organised on 9th December, 2010 in our campus. The campaign aimed at kitchen safety issues like usage of LPG at home and dos and don’ts. An animated film was screened in this regard. This was followed by a spot drawing competition on the same topic. First three prizes were given away by Mr. Abeedh Kadir, Regional Sales Manager to the winners.

Theme Day a Curious Cruise….
Parents always have a curiosity of what their tiny tot is up to as an individual in a new world to venture. Theme Day is a curtain raiser to answer such curiosities. Theme Day a live classroom for classes I to V Xseed Curriculum cruise has given a glimpses of the group and individual participation of a child in classroom activities. Parents were quite impressed to see their wards performance. Mrs. P. Padmaja, Parent says, ‘I am spellbound to watch children so boldly interacting to quench their curiosities at such a tender age.’ Mr. K. V. Ramesh Babu adds, “My faith in the faculty heightened watching these innovative, interactive sessions!” Isn’t this gives a sense of pride and satisfaction to the faculty of Nalanda!
Fancy Dress Completion
Sharuk Khan, Jhansi Ki Rani, Barbie, Karina Kapoor, Spider man it goes…. Were in NTS campus to wow the young audience. Wonder stuck!!! Students from L.K.G and U.K.G robbed on lookers in a Fancy Dress Competition taken place on11th and 12th of February. . They really put the judges in great difficulty in judging them.
Bhuvana Vijayam Play let Aired
The play let which may applauses winning first prize at Gurajada Kalashethram was aired on All India Radio on Dec 18th. This was followed by devotional songs by UKG students. Mrs. A. Rajeswari and Mrs. Aruna were inspirations to the team spirit.
Art & Craft Room
To do what others cannot do is talent. To do what talent cannot do is genius. To bring out the genius in our children, we designed an Art & Craft room. It is very much essential to create the right atmosphere to bring out the best. The beautiful works of art displayed in the room act as a constant motivating factor. The children are trained under the able guidance of Art Master as Art provides the opportunities for Mastery, self-esteem and self-expression.
Telugu Language Week
We are proud to say that Telugu is our mother tongue. Often referred to as the Italian of the East, it is the sweetest language of the Dravidian Languages. Telugu is the third most widely spoken language in the Indian sub continent.
Keeping in tradition with the Nalandian culture, the Telugu Language Week was celebrated with a series of programmes. A wide range of activities were conducted to create awareness, infuse interest & develop the feeling of pride for our mother tongue. Telugu Recitation, Story Telling, Quiz of Epics were conducted in the school in view of Telugu Week Celebrations for classes I std. to X std.
Grand Parents Day
The relationship between generations can be very enriching for
young and old alike. What’s most important is to make the grand
parents feel special & let them know how important they are in their
grand children’s lives. So we put aside a day to bring then into the
limelight.
The children performed various programmes like dances, songs,
recitation of poems, speeches, etc. & entertained the grand parents
immensely. Some games were also organized for them.
The Dy.Director, Dr.P.Pulla Rao personally welcomed each one of the
grand parents & interacted with them. He thanked them for having
taken the trouble to come & spend some time with us.
All the grandparents were overwhelmed with joy seeing their children
perform so professionally and they expressed their heart-felt
gratitude for making them feel so special.

Out Reach Programme
Life’s more than a magazine in which we flip the pages and enjoy the picture. We need to experiment the bitter truths of life as well.
The Out Reach Programme conducted on 11th November was a step in getting first hard experience of the less fortunate. A cross section of students accompanied by a group of teachers were taken to Shanti Ashram – a Home for the deaf & dumb children. Prema Samajam – a home for the homeless & old people. This 93 year old organization takes these physically challenged children with great care. Our students collected old clothes, stationary items and utility items very enthusiastically, which were distributed to the boarders.
‘Wonders from Waste’
‘Science is not just limited to the classrooms & laboratories’ Its part of everyone’s life.
Students came out with a novel idea to display various uses of waste materials. This project ‘Wonders from Waste’ was done to create awareness among students about waste disposal. Disposing the non-biodegradable garbage in a proper way is very essential. It was surprising to see the variety of items that the students prepared using non-biodegradable waste.
Wall hangings, flower pots, book marks scale & pen stands, letter pouches, vases, etc. were just some of them.
Annual Day Celebrations - Paribhasha - 2011
Paribhasha – 2011 a two day feast of celebrations enthralled the gathering. The event showcased the creativity and talent of the students of Nalanda. The exuberant costumes and the expertise performance awe stuck the parents. The opening day i.e. on 29th January 2011 students of the Jr.Wing mesmerized their parents.
The Chief Guest of the day, Dr. Shomie R. Das, Chairman, People Combine Educational Initiatives gave a valuable message to the audience. He rightly said that curiosity, critical analysis, creativity, communication skills and choice making are the five C’s that prepares a child to face ever changing challengers of the global village. Mr. Prassannanjaneyulu, Joint Managing Director, Guest of Honour insisted on training the children to develop there skills to update to meet the changes.
Gogullo, Gogullo folk dance, Salsa, Classical dances, Gujarathi Dandia rocked the show. And were much talked about programmes. The variety won the hearts of the gathering. English skit ─ “We Cannot Please Everyone.” pleased every one with the younger one’s stunning performance.

The Chief Guest of the day Mr. Sunil Panwar, G.M, Brandix India Apparel City spoke on this occasion. He insisted on smart work and team work Sri. M. Suryanarayana D.E.O. Vizag, Guest of Honour appreciated the children of NTS for their more participation in extra curricular activities and also for bagging prizes.
The cultural extravaganza by Sr. Wing students swayed the audience in a medley of songs. Bramhanjali, Dasavatharalu, Oriya folk, Punjabi folk etc. are a few to dot. The foot tapping music, colourful attires, drama, skits, dance etc was a spectacular display of talent and smartness of Nalandians. Patriotic drama Alluri Seetharama Raju, spiritual drama Valmiki, comedy skit Janabha Lekkalu filled the air with wow.
The cultural event drew to a close with X Class boy’s daring performance to a rocking music.
Parent Teacher Meet
A Student venturing to learn has to transcend all hurdles that pull him back. And a child pursuing his / her noble intent, has parents and teachers guiding as unfailing source of inspiration and support. The Parent Teacher Meet is one such platform amidst overwhelming guidance in helping the child achieve impressive results in his learning process ahead. The first PTM of the academic year 2010-2011 took place on 31st August in school premises. Children were guided to delve deep into their work, thus deriving all joy in acquiring knowledge.
Counselling Session for students.
Childhood is precious. It needs to be handled of with case & concern. Here comes in the critical role of our counseling cell.
Our counselor, Dr. Beatress not only guide the students’ academic improvements but also in psychological strengthening.
She educate them in self-awareness, self-confidence, social ethics & adolescence. Exclusive sessions for students were taken on effective study skills, high achievement motivation, behaviour problems and so on.
Workshops are also conducted for parents on effective handling of adolescence, art of parenting and so on.
WORKSHOPS AND ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES FOR STUDENTS
A Work Shop on Polished English was conducted for the class IX and X students by Mr. Pradhyumna a Senior Lecturer from DIET
An Orientation Programme on Positive Thinking & High Motivation was conducted by Sri Rama Krishna, from Brahma Kumaris.
