a. NTS offers State syllabus affiliated to Andhra Pradesh State Board and we also have the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus from class VI TO X. Under the name of Vikas Vidyaniketan. .

7. How are children assessed and evaluated at NTS?

a. Children are assessed continuously through weekly tests/ chapter-end tests, unit tests & Term exams spread out uniformly throughout the year. They are also evaluated for the project works and practical skills..

8. How is it different from other schools?

a. NTS is different from other schools in many aspects – Conceptual Learning, Activity based teaching, Application orientation, analytical thinking & creativity is encouraged & learning by rote is totally discouraged.

a. Highly qualified and experienced teachers are selected after putting them through an interview, a written test and demo class. Orientation Programmes, subject – oriented workshops & motivational seminars keep the teachers in touch with the latest happenings on the educational scenario.

a. At NTS the special focus is on ‘how to learn & not on ‘what to learn’. Children are taught in such a way that they learn on their own. We at NTS realize that schooling is not all about facts & figures; but is deals with the method of learning.

11. What are the special steps taken to improve communicative skills at NTS?

a. Various language-oriented activities are implemented to improve communication skills. Word hunt, word building, sentence building, narration, dramatization, etc are some of these. Two communicators, one for junior wing and one for senior wing have been appointed specifically to work on every aspect of the English language

a. Yes, children of the higher classes are exposed to in-depth subject orientated workshops

a. CBSE is a widely accepted Board all over India; which prepares the children very well for competitive exams. The emphasis here is on concept oriented teaching and application skills which encourages analytical thinking.

a. Yes, CBSE is beneficial to the child because it encourages the child to understand the subject and analyze the concepts, which provides a platform for the enhancement of creative thinking.

a. Students of classes IV to X are provided with the opportunity to appear for All India level Talent exams like, National Talent Search Examination, Unified council examination, Science/Math’s Olympiad, Cyber Olympiad etc., The GATE (Gifted and Talented education) Programme is conducted in the school for the aspirants where in, they are trained to appear for these competitive exams.

a.Transportation facility is provided to and fro the school, connecting all the important residential areas of the city.

a. We communicate with the parents regularly through the dairy and occasionally through Tele Phonic-communication. The school also communicates regularly with the parents through SMS, E-mail; Letters (circulars) Parent-Teacher meet, personalized interactive sessions & Coffee morning sessions

8 a.m. – 1.15 p.m. (LKG to V),
8 a.m. – 3.45 p.m. (VI to X)

The school fees has to be paid as given in the fee circular. It has to be remitted in the School office before the 5th of the respective month.

a. The strength of each class is about 25-35 in the lower classes & between 35-45 in the higher classes.

a.In order to get admission into NTS the child has to appear for written entrance test and admission is granted only if the performance of the child is found satisfactory.

a.The Library is well stocked with a variety of books ranging from primary to secondary level textbooks, reference books and encyclopedia. The Library is headed by a qualified Librarian who motivates and guides the children to improve their reading habits

a. The well-equipped science laboratory in school gives additional support to the students to understand and assimilate the subject in a better way. Demo experiments are shown on almost all the topics and children are also guided to do experiments.

a. A large and spacious playground is available where coaching for games like Cricket, Volleyball, Lawn tennis, Basketball; Shuttle badminton, Throw ball, etc., can be simultaneously played.

a. The extra-curricular activities offered at NTS are music, drawing, yoga, karate instrumental-keyboard, sports & games. These classes are also conducted as optional activities after school hours for specialized coaching.

a. We have a special Play area for the pre-primary children with different playthings like See-saw, slide, merry-go-round, monkey bars etc.
